​Greetings Future École Moody Middle School of the Arts (ÉMMSOTA) Families.

We continue to live in very unique times and I hope you are all managing well enough; supporting your family and staying safe.

I apologize for minimal communication since we have returned from our March Break. We are adjusting daily to information updates and trying to stay consistent with the messages from the PHO, the Ministry of Education and our School District 43.  Administrators and our District Leadership Team have been meeting to discuss how we adjust our Spring articulation practices this year. Several of our usual events have been cancelled. These events are significant in the transition of your children into our middle schools. We are working together to provide some consistency for all students transitioning from elementary to middle school. Some of the thoughts so far include but are not limited to:

1. Articulation with Elementary school teachers and staff online is currently underway. These meetings are very important in understanding your child as  learner.  
2. A virtual tour of the school where new students will at least get a feeling for physical layout of their new school if they have yet to visit - to be out to you in early June.
3. Some teacher introductions and “Welcome to Middle School" information in some video or online format to be sent out near the end of May or first week of June.
4. Surveys out to parents and children that may help administrators and staff understand your children a bit better. (hopefully to be sent to you next week)
5. Q & A with Principal and Vice Principal either live or recorded in response to some frequently asked questions about middle school and in particular ÉMMSOTA.
6. As we start down the path of reintroducing students into schools we will also be having some individual visits at the school for a few students requiring a very concrete transition over the course of June and before school starts up again in September.

These are just a few ideas that will come out to you in the coming weeks and before the end of June. We are truly sorry that we will not be able to bring you and your children into the building as we would normally. We appreciate your ongoing support and patience during these times of uncertainty.

We are all missing our students and I know I can say on behalf of the entire ÉMMSOTA Staff, we are so looking forward to meeting all of you and your children as soon as we can.
