Middle Years Development Instrument
Students in grade 7 will be participating in this year's Middle Years Development Instrument (MDI) in partnership with the University of British Columbia working at the Human Early Learning Partnership (HELP). SD43 makes up one of the largest groups of students in BC being asked about their thoughts, feelings and experiences inside and outside of school in an effort to allow teachers to understand and have information about general trends on student learning and connectedness to others and self. Already, the information garnered in this research has led to systemic changes that can be seen at play in our own Action Plan for Learning (APL) and our focus on Social and Emotional Learning and Self-Regulated Learning practices. Please watch your inboxes for a more detailed multi-language newsletter explaining the MDI.
The survey takes about 1-2 classes to complete on-line and is voluntary. For more information about this survey, please contact Ms Jung at kjung@sd43.bc.ca.
