Bike to School Week - May 30 to June 2
Next week is Bike to School week! Montgomery Middle students are a safe & active bunch and Bike to School Week is a great way to showcase this! Challenge yourself, your classmates, your friends and neighbours to come to school next week on bikes! If you don’t usually cycle, this is a great opportunity to try something new.
Every day you ride, make sure your bike trip gets counted. At lunchtime drop by the Cool Routes to School table to let them know you cycled and to pick up a sticker. Every student bike ride to school will get a sticker on a poster and at the end of the week, the total number of bike trips will be submitted to HUB Cycling. Monty could win some super prizes!
Try something different, do it with a friend, check in at the Cool Routes table and remember: be safe, wear a helmet and enjoy the ride! You can find more information at bikehub.ca.
Active Travel Week
At the same time as Bike to School Week, your Cool Routes to School team is running an “Active Travel” contest. Even if you don’t ride your bike, but you come to school using an active mode of transportation – for example walking, riding your scooter, etc – check in at the Cool Routes table to enter yourself into a draw to win prizes! This will also be May 30 – June 2.
If you have any questions, drop by the Cool Routes to School table at lunchtime or call/email the Bike to School Week parent connecter, Teri Towner at 604-218-2276 or teritowner@gmail.com
