Next week we kick our Terry Fox Foundation fundraising into high gear. We again this year have some fun incentives to boost our fundraising goal to over $1200. These will include a lengthened recess break for the whole school, a brave student dying his hair pink, and another brave student shaving his head.
Our fundraising events kicked off today with a special assembly featuring guest speaker Kirsten Fox (Terry’s niece) sharing stories of Terry’s life and legacy.
Next week please have your child bring in donations as follows:
Monday: “Toonies for Terry”
Tuesday: “Dimes, nickels, quarters”. At lunch will be a Bake sale, all items for sale by donation. (We have requested nut/peanut free cookies from our Grade 4/5 families)
Wednesday: “Loving Loonies for Terry”. A lunch hour music concert by donation – our very own Ms. Fennell (professional singer who recently cut her own CD) performs in gym.
We will gladly accept donations from adults at our Open House, 6:30-7:30 pm (I hope you can all attend!)
Thursday: “Powerful Pennies”…and all other coins. Our annual Terry Fox Run (1:30-2:30) will begin with a short assembly at 1:30, then a rain-or-shine run/walk through the neighbourhood, winding up with a treat from the PAC.
Friday “Last call for donations from all!!”
All week long our inCREdibles leadership students will pose questions about Terry Fox on morning announcements and students will be invited to submit ballots with their answers.
Thanks in advance for supporting this most worthy cause… cancer can be beaten!
