Hockey Fundraiser

November 15, 2010

Game For Gary”

The Centennial Secondary School Hockey Academy has organized an event to encourage and help support Gary MacKenzie through his battle with Cancer. We hope to raise money through a friendly hockey game and donate the funds to a cancer facility of Gary’s choice.

Centennial Hockey Academy Team (students) vs. Gary’s Quick Stop Team (Gary’s Friends)

·         Minimum donation to play- $4 Skate sharpening fee

·         Monday December 13, 2010- Coquitlam Main Arena - 4pm-6pm

·         Spectators are encouraged to make donations at the door and throughout the event

The Centennial Academy students hope to make this a very rewarding event for Gary and want your participation to either play, watch, donate, and/or support in organizing the event. Please contact Keith Peterson (Hockey Academy Teacher-kpeterson@sd43.bc.ca) if you are able to assist in some capacity. We are seeking volunteers and support in:

·         Organizing and managing a snack/drink concession during the event- money to be donated

·         Silent Auction items – Centennial Metal Department has donated 3 Hockey Stick Benches for auction

·         A prize for the 1st intermission event – Frisbee Toss from spectators

·         Advertising this event to friends and family

Thank-you and please help us make this a wonderful experience for Gary! Forward this email to friends, family, and  to anyone who may be interested in this event. Attached to this email is a flyer detailing the event.

We will be collecting non-perishable food items at the door for the Tri-City Share Food Bank to support families in need at Christmas.
