Fitness Opportunities for Teens

New teen fitness programs starting in January 2014

Starting this January, Coquitlam Parks, Recreation & Culture is offering new teen fitness programs for youth ages 13 – 16.

 

Teen Time in the Weight Room

Daily from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. youth between the ages of 13 – 15 are welcome to use the fitness centres & weight rooms at City Centre Aquatic Complex, Pinetree Community Centre and Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex. Before using the weight room, teens must complete the Fitness Starter Program or the Teen Weight Training program. Details and registration information available at coquitlam.ca/teenfitness

 

Boot Camp

A fun and energentic workout designed for teens 13 – 16 years old. A certified fitness trainer will lead safe and effective exerecies to work the entire body. Sessions run Tuesdays, January 14 to February 4 or Thursdays, January 16 to February 6 from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m at Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex. Cost is $20.80.

 

Indoor Cycling

A class just for teens, to get one of the best cardiovascular workouts around. Sessions run Mondays, January 13 to February 3 and February 17 to March 10, from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m at Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex. Cost is $20.80.

 

Teen Weight Training

This program teaches youth how to work out safely and effectively using proper movements and nutrition. Each class includes a workout. Sessions run Wednesdays, January 15 to February 5 and February 19 to March 12 from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m at City Centre Aquatic Complex and Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex. Cost is $20.80.
