April 29, 2019 Dear Parents, The Grade 5’s are planning a special activity in June in celebration of their last year at Birchland. On Friday, June 14th the students will be spending the day at Cultus Lake Waterslides. The cost per student or parent volunteer will be $14.00 for admission. The bus transportation has been generously donated by the parent community. If, for some reason, you do not wish your child to participate in this activity please let us know. If the expense of this trip is difficult for you, please speak to Ms. Anjos. No child will be excluded because of financial reasons. We will be taking a bus to Cultus Lake. Students need to arrive at the school at 8:30 am as the bus will leave promptly at 8:45 am. We will require parents to help supervise and help cook/serve lunch to students. The admission cost per adult is $14.00. There is room on the bus for volunteers. Parking is $5. BPAC will be providing a lunch. We recommend students bring extra food and drink to have earlier or later in the day. The park also has a concession stand but we aren’t encouraging the students to bring a lot of money because of the risk of losing it and line ups. Students will need to bring the following items: • Bathing suit (no cut offs or metal objects such as rivets or buckles) and towel • hat • sunscreen • sunglasses • no electronics • dress for weather (rain or shine) • water bottle • extra food Thank you for your cooperation and support.
