Seaview Community School – A People Place
Our Mission:
To create centres with enhanced learning opportunities, where students, staff, families, residents, agencies and business work together to support student learning, build stronger families and community. (School District 43 Community Schools Pamphlet 2009)
Our School District and Seaview Community School embrace “life-long learning” and our goal is to make our school building as available as possible to meet the needs of our immediate community. To this end the Community School works with individuals, organizations, community partners and business to offer a variety of programs, events and opportunities for learning, for active health and for social interaction. Programs are offered throughout the day however most take place after school and in the evening. Activities are offered for all ages with an emphasis on child and youth programs.
We are your neighbourhood community school and you can help us provide service geared to the specific needs of our community. You are welcome to join us in our work toward this end. Please contact Steve Brown-John, Community Schools Coordinator at 604 230-1233 or sbrown-john@sd43.bc.ca if you wish more information or if you wish to participate on our Community School Advisory Committee.
