Dear Parents and Students

 Welcome to Panorama Heights Elementary School. I know that you and your children will find this to be an excellent school and community in which to live.

The relationship between home and school should be a close one. Our children spend almost as many of their waking hours at school as they do at home. Just as it is important for parents to share information about the children, it is important for the school to share information with the parents and together we can enhance learning for all children. The School Handbook pages printed each year in the student agenda booklets are intended to assist you in becoming familiar with procedures used at Panorama Heights Elementary School.

Each school year Panorama Heights School submits an Action Plan for Learning (A.P.L..) to the Board of Trustees. The purpose of the A.P.L. is on improving student achievement and enhancing student learning. The School Planning Council is an advisory body composed of the Principal, one teacher and three parents elected at a regular meeting of the Parent Advisory Council (one of which must be a P.A.C. executive member). The S.P.C. is responsible for overseeing the developiment of our school Action Plan for Learning Plan each year which focuses on student achievement.

The goals of the Action Plan for Learning in the current school year is to: improve student communication skills in the area of literary writing and working on solving problems in a peaceful way.  

We look forward to working with your children this year.  We also welcome you to come and see first hand the wonderful things that happen here at Panorama Heights.
