About Aspenwood

Located on the upper levels of Heritage Mountain in Port Moody in an area of rapidly developing housing, Aspenwood Elementary is in a growing community comprised of a variety of cultures.

Aspenwood Elementary opened in the year 2000 with just over 100 students and has grown to 400 students in Kindergarten to Grade 5. This includes some 90 students in the Montessori Program.

Aspenwood hosts several cross-grade and cross-curricular themes throughout the year and places an emphasis on integrating the arts into the curriculum. Each year, it features several week-long events with every class and student involved in displays and projects. It also participates in the Salmonids in the Classroom program.

The parent community is very active at Aspenwood and provides ongoing financial support for program enhancements, as well as providing a strong volunteer core.
Many community groups utilize space in Aspenwood after school hours. Before and after-school care is provided by Kinder Kampus.
