Hairstylist means a person who engages in the occupation of cutting, dressing, curling, waving, permanently waving, cleansing, bleaching or similar work on the hair of a person.
Open to grade 12 and 11 students.
Students take seven Haidressing courses, and either English 12 or Communications 12.
Students are recommended to take Work Experience 12 as it is difficult to find paid employment without some experience in a salon.
Location & Program Length:
This is an all-year (10-month program) taught at Gleneagle Secondary School.
Read through the brochure and application (see 'documents' below) to gain an understanding of the program and expectations..
Print off the application and thoroughly complete, in pen, all the necesary information.
Submit the completed application to your high school counselor.
Due date: March 30th of the present school year for the following school year's program.
(ex: Submit in March 2015 for programs being offered in the school year 2015-16).
Conditional acceptances will be offered, and later confirmed, once student has completed necessary requirements and attendance/lates and marks are met.
Industry Training Authority (ITA)
Dual credits: high school credit and ITA credit
Completion of grade 11, or grade 10 (depending on student's grade level)
